Falcons working to sign Dashon Goldson

UPDATE: Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff said on Saturday the team is talking to Dashon Goldson’s representative about signing with the today.

“We had him today and worked him out,” Dimitroff said. “He had a nice workout and we’re in discussions with his representation.”

FLOWERY BRANCH — In the wake of the knee injury to rookie Keanu Neal, the Falcons are set to workout veteran safety Dashon Goldson on Sunday, the team confirmed.

Goldson, 31, is 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds. He’s a nine-year veteran and two-time Pro Bowler with stops in San Francisco (2007-2012), Tampa Bay (2914-2014) and Washington (2015).

He was All-Pro in 2012.

Neal, who was injured in the third exhibition game against Miami on Thursday, is set to have knee surgery on Monday. He’s slated to miss three to four weeks.

What does it matter??? This team will tank anyways

While shanahan is calling the offense,we are gonna be low scoring, predictable on our offense. He's still using the same plays from long ago,its pathetic. We should have dumped him last year, lets just hope we can be decent with our scoring. Falcons have one of the hardest schedules in the league this year.

I've been saying this everyone say I'm crazy. Whoever thought it was a good idea to get him need to be booted right before he get the boot.

Jeff Richardson

His plays are way outdated, weak, and very predictable. Opposing defenses know what he's doing,he shouldn't be coaching in the NFL. I wish the falcons would've dropped him after the disaster last season was

Well right now we need him to beat the hell out of quarter backs!

Falcons don't like guys who incorporate violence on the field.... can't you see the way we tackle

You Need Someone Who Can RUSH the Quarterback!!!!!! Not a another backup safety from a crappy team!

Roy Appleby III
Roy Appleby III

Why didn't they do this instead of drafting a rookie safety and drafting a pass rusher instead??

Because that would have been too-much-like the right thing to DO!!

We should go and work out donte whitner as well

Jamarius Petty
Jamarius Petty

They won't sign whitner because as a veteran that would make him the automatic starter over Neal making Neal the backup SS.

Thought so too. Atleast before panthers sign him.

Our o line is just fine sir Mack,Mathews,Levitre, & Chester was good last year.

Shane Stuart

Haha ur funny that's why Dlines in Ryan's face as soon as the ball is snapped nice try tho

Dario Macias
Dario Macias

Top 4 oline last year without Mack. Try again.

Matt Martin
Matt Martin

If Ryan has the Dline is his face this year after a decent line last year without a center( they got it fixed now) then that is on him. Can't hold onto the ball and wait for the receiver to run complete route. To be an elite QB you have to scan the field and hit receivers in stride and on time.

Tory Jones
Tory Jones

A good O line prevents pressure on the QB and makes holes for the RBS, this O line does neither.

Trey Gonzalez
Trey Gonzalez

Another hard hitter. Hopefully he dont get no suspensions
