5 things to know about the Falcons on Thursday

FLOWERY BRANCH — The Atlanta Falcons (6-3), coming off a 43-28 rout of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, are set to face the Philadelphia Eagles (4-4) at 1 p.m. Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field.

Here are five things to know about the Falcons on Thursday:

1. Practice. The Falcons will hold practice at 1:55 p.m. today. Wide receiver Julio Jones is set to speak to the media during the open locker room period.

2. Injury report. Falcons defensive end Dwight Freeney (thigh), tight end Jacob Tamme (shoulder), running back Tevin Coleman (hamstring) and cornerback Desmond Trufant (shoulder) did not practice on Wednesday.

3. Series record.  This will be the 30th regular-season meeting between the two teams. The Eagles lead the series 15-13-1. The Falcons won the last meeting, 26-24, on Sept. 14, 2015 at the Georgia Dome. The Falcons beat the Eagles 30-17 on their last visit to Philadelphia on Oct. 28, 2102 as Julio Jones caught a 63-yard touchdown pass.

4. Ryan honored. Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan was named the NFC offensive player of the week on Wednesday.
